“Technopath” Basic abilities:

*You may read Citadel Script. If you wish to write it, then take the general skill.

*You know the rite of Initiation; this is a rite of a few key phrases, which binds a willing AI to a willing housing; most often, this is used to house an AI in a subject’s ka.

*You may improvise Techgnostic rituals, this will never be more effective than using the actual skill to do so. Knowing rituals closer to the effect you are aiming for, and having previously improvised a similar ritual, makes the ritual more likely to succeed. Leading an improvisation more than once per day has deleterious effects.

All characters who perform techgnosis should have a medium- a prop that contains the machinery that allows you to perform rites and rituals with AIs. This can be any shape or size - see here for more advice.

Techgnostic abilities come in two forms, they both require appropriate roleplaying.

Rites

The list of available rites can be found here.

These are short ceremonies, which can be performed by a single person and do not improve with additional participants. They last at least 10 seconds, and there are no limits on the frequency with which a Technopath can perform these.

Starting technopaths have access to the rite of Initiation.

Rituals

These are longer ceremonies that have to be lead by a skilled technopath with the knowledge of the ritual. Otherwise, anyone may contribute to rituals, increasing the favour, naturally with technopath contributors being more effective than others.. The favour can be further increased by spending scrap and inorganic resources.

Rituals last at least a minute, often longer. Usually rituals are limited by use, an AI will likely not respond to repeated performance of a ritual.

All AIs invariably give a role playing effect when bound to a person's Ka. This is a fundamental part of their nature and cannot be prevented but the effect can be suppressed by other means.
