Part of a series about Citadel Rules
Part of a series about the Technology of the Outlook.
All characters who perform techgnosis should have a medium- a prop that contains the machinery that allows you to perform rites and rituals with AIs. This can be any shape or size - see here for more advice.
Techgnostic abilities come in two forms, they both require appropriate roleplaying.
Rites
The list of available rites can be found here.
These are short ceremonies, which can be performed by a single person and do not improve with additional participants. They last at least 10 seconds, and there are no limits on the frequency with which a Technopath can perform these.
Starting technopaths have access to the rite of Initiation.
Rituals
These are longer ceremonies that have to be lead by a skilled technopath with the knowledge of the ritual. Otherwise, anyone may contribute to rituals, increasing the favour, naturally with technopath contributors being more effective than others.. The favour can be further increased by spending scrap and inorganic resources.
Rituals last at least a minute, often longer. Usually rituals are limited by use, an AI will likely not respond to repeated performance of a ritual.
All AIs invariably give a role playing effect when bound to a person's Ka. This is a fundamental part of their nature and cannot be prevented but the effect can be suppressed by other means.
