Psionics is a talent available only to gene-strains. It involves enacting changes on the world by focusing the mind. It is not fully understood why psionics can affect Inorganic things, but it can. The act of Psionics is an expression of changes in the heredity, which is why dead-strains may not express Psionics. They can, for some reason, participate in Communions.

Basic Abilities

Psionicists have a pool of 2 Focus which they can expend to use Powers. They may recharge the entire pool after thirty seconds of interacting with sentient individuals. This interaction can be of any nature, but cannot involve combat calls. Spending Focus, making any call, participating in a Communion or Ritual or receiving any damage all prevent regaining Focus.

“Detect Nature” This is a power, which costs 1 Focus and may only be used after 5s of social interaction with the target, on whom you call “DETECT NATURE”. Responses will begin “Human”, “Nature”, or “Tech”. Natural things may be briefed to give further information.

Psionicists may improvise Communions from any Pathway they have walked. Improvised Communions are never as good as expressed abilities, and often have high levels of fallout. Improvising more than once per day has severely deleterious effects to your health. Improvising Communions which are close to abilities you already know is more likely to be successful.

Different Psionicists find certain “flavours” of interaction “tastier” i.e. enjoying argumentation or debate, or reassurance or friendship. These are not hard-and-fast rules, but a guide for RP; with the exception of certain wounds/fallout which may change the ability to regain Focus.
